Dibs For Dogs emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Laying a foundation since 2018, we’re an organization driven by compassionate and strategic ideas, bold actions, and a strong crux of support. Contact us to learn more and to get involved.

Dear Interested Shelter or

Rescue Organization:

For the past few years, I have been researching for a good solution for my service dog needs. In the course of finding this solution, I have experienced how difficult it is for people, with certain service dog needs, to obtain an appropriate dog. In addition, my eyes have been opened to the great need of rescuing dogs in the South—my own two dogs for instance.

​

Consequently, I am intensely networking to start a specialized rescue/adoption organization called “Dibs for Dogs.” Dibs for Dogs (DFD) will work with rescue organizations and shelters, to evaluate dogs as service dog candidates. For these extraordinary dogs, DFD will coordinate further evaluation and transport them to service dog trainers who use positive training methods.

By selecting dogs from southern rescue organizations and transporting them, this would free up space for you to rescue more dogs for fostering and adopting.

​

By coordinating the transport of these dogs to the service dog trainer, it provides a valuable service for the service dog trainer and their clients. The waitlist for clients is long!

At this stage, DFD has received its 501(c)(3) approval letter and is seeking start-up funding from various means such as your donations and grants that support projects with a mission to aid both humans and animals. Even while we slowly build a strong foundation, we tenaciously pursue the mission because the need is great.
